Is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome.
WHO WE ARE
Dogtown is a sanctuary for hundreds of dogs who have lost their families or have been rescued from dire situations.Every day the dedicated team of Dogtown, work hard to save more lives. A leader in animal care and behaviour our sanctuary is nestled in the mountains on a 50acre farm in Hennops where the animals are cared for and nurtured in a tranquil setting, while they wait for their forever home.
There’s a misconception that a rescue dog is going to be damaged in some way and that’s not true. They are plenty of dogs at DogtownSA just looking for a 2nd chance at a new life in a loving home.While waiting at Dogtown the dogs receive dedicated love and care by our qualified caregivers.
We aim to offer lifelong commitment to the dogs that come into our care and a lifetime of support to their new families.
We also have a retirement village for older dogs as a lot of the time older dogs with medical issues are dumped at centres around the country with less chance of finding lovebable homes.
REHABILITATION AREA
Sadly there are sometimes cases that need more specialized care and for this reason we have our own dedicated rehabilitation area, where our full time behaviourists work each day improving the life of a misunderstood dog. Often giving them their last glimmer of hope to become a well adjusted dog who can live a full and happy life.
With the quality of daily enrichment and training by internationally qualified staff. The dogs at Dogtown receive the best care while they patiently wait for their loving home. Dogtown is the only true rehabilitation centre in South Africa with a team of 10 full time certified trainers and behaviourists seeing to the dogs every needs.
The majority of the dogs in our care are happy go lucky dogs who just need YOU!
